that sounds like your bothered by his wanting to say goodbye... self importance is what being alive is about. of COURSE we care for no one else but ourselves. selfishness. we all have it, the key primal factor that controls our actions and stimualtes our minds. But where he may lack the subtlety that annoys you so, he still has good intentions and cant leave his ties all of a sudden.
you might be selfish enough to do something so blatant, abandoning your fans and people who looked up to you, but he chooses to leave in a positive way with a good impression.
