New Series + Will Draw to Help Japan!

Posted by Egoraptor - March 21st, 2011

Hey everyone!

I've got a new series out called Sequelitis! It's a funny and slightly educational look at sequels and the relationship they have with their predecessors, take a look! It's got animation, jokes, and YEAH!

Full-on animation has been a little slow lately which is why there's been a bit of radio silence on NG (and I'm kinda lazy) but it will pick up. Sequelitis Episode 2 is on the way, and after that, I'm thinkin Girlchan. It's about time I announced some shit about the Girlchan Character Contest. Yes there are winners!! There are actually THREE GRAND PRIZE WINNERS. Can you believe it?!?!?!?!?!?!

Also, the earthquakes in Japan really rocked shit up. Sharkrobot, Magfest and I teamed up to bring you a charity auction on Ebay where I will draw you anything you desire, and all proceeds will go to the Red Cross efforts in Japan! Sounds cool? Go bid!!

Make sure to follow me on Twitter (@egoraptor) and "Like" me on Facebook (Egoraptor on Facebook!) 'Cause I update there for a lot of miscellaneous things.

Good Work Ego! Keep up the coolenss.

7:50 Spoiler.

i knew there was gonna be a mention of simon's quest..and im glad that your doing something to help the japanese earthquake victims

This pleased me.

I have to admit, I dislike games that force you to grind, even in RPGs, I believe that it is simply an artificial way to make the game harder or longer. The best RPG games should allow you to be at an appropriate level at any point in the game by simply fighting most of the enemies that happen to be in your way up until that point. Tri-Crescendo have been very good at that (although one of their games does defeat the point of thing by having a point in the game with needlessly long and almost empty corridors that take about 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other).

Of course, this does present a problem in creating difficulty in an RPG, but it is possible to do (see Tales of Vesperia. Possible to complete by simply fighting most enemies, but not overly easy to do so. It's not the hardest game in the world, but it has reasonable difficulty, and optional challenges in boss fights keep them interesting).

Very nice. Occasionally I thought you were getting into an exaggerated state for humor's sake, but it never went overboard and in fact helped compliment the rest of the video (somehow). Your reasoning is easy to understand and your points are valid. It was all presented in such a way that you didn't sound elitist, 'pro', or in any way more important than a typical player, which was refreshing. In fact, I'd say the overarching feeling in the comparisons between the two wasn't anger (like so many fans feel when their expectations are dashed on the rocks) but more of a subtle disappointment. It was also interesting to see you connect these points to the later entries in the series. You're right, they are similar for all the reasons that Castlevania II was bad, but it pulls it off somehow with shiny lights, etc.

I'm an avid Castlevania fan and I really appreciated this.

That's great :D

I think it's great that you are helping out Japan along with others. And your new series is very good! Can't wait for the next episode.

Fucking spot on. I want to see more of these.

DUDE YES!

I like "avatar strength", that's a fun phrase.

A video game show that's interesting?

WHAT IS THIS I'M SO CONFUSED.

This was really interesting. Loved the analogies and you've got the HEART FOR THIS MAN. Go spend yo' heart on an IMPORTANT ITEM MANNN.

good voice man!!!!LOL

bring back lemon n bill woooo

Your animations are always great... but THIS ... this series... seriously, the humor is relentless, literally a laugh out loud (in my head) moment almost every 2 seconds.

Script and voicing are off the charts. I hope this shit takes off. Accurate critique + Ego's voice is unstoppable.

I am officially a fan-boy.

Go Japan!

Nice job Ego! I really want to see more of these!

Big fan of ur $#!+, which now sounds kinda' gross ha ha ha, but ANYWAY! Keep up the AWESOME...stuff? Lookin' forward ta' more funny @$$ vids.

You're are a very wise man. I watched the whole thing and even took some notes. Your talent is amazing and honestly you're one of my idols. I aspire to be as good as you one day.

Here's a game and it's sequel that don't mix.

Xenosaga 1 and Xenosaga 2, If you want a long list of things to compare between this is the next game you should do!

good points, never really thought about that all...i love you

Dude
I love you, you are my favorite animator
I loved Sequelitis, it makes soooo much sense
I never looked at it that way before
I hate games that make you have to do all of this extra shit smh

that,s the problem the modern day games are all just a flash in the pan or a cheep not even similar knockoff of the original games that brought meaning into this world now these days all people care about is either how many heads can i chop off and shove down there poophole or how much the graphics look good it,s like it almost real or look i earned an impossibly hard achievement and i am going to poke my friends about it the very soul of gaming like this has turned into a mindlessly unending show of competition the big game industry,s use to sell add ons and such to the public it's quite sad really
