Mega Con was great, I got to hang out with Tomamoto and The Swain who are both insanely swell guys. Tomamoto and I had plenty of con adventures, and it was fun since this was his first convention. I think the highlight of the con was acting like we were two asshole Brooklyn guys ripping on every game in the gaming area, especially Naruto. This girl even flipped the fuck out about how we were (purposely) pronouncing the names wrong.

Swain also gave me a Blockhead shirt which is MEGA awesome, it's totally one of my favorite shirts now. Also, the guy is a monster, what is he like 8 ' 12"? Jesus.

We also stopped at a free Foreigner concert which was soooo badass, holy shit. They rocked so hard the power went out during Cold as Ice, godamn.

Anyway, I wanted to pose you guys a question. I've been looking back on the awesome compilations and really not admiring the rushedness of them having been made with severe time restraints because of MTV. It really made me want to reanimate them, and maybe throw in a couple more jokes. I've been getting a couple more ideas for other "Awesome" videos even though I said MGA2 is the last one.

So, I ask you guys: would you like an Awesome DVD? This is a serious question, I'm already planning the whole thing out, and I'm about to start developing it. Before you answer, here's what I plan to have on it:

- Metal Gear Awesome 1 and 2, possibly with commentary (I want to try to work commentary in SOMEHOW).
- Every Awesome Compilation completely redone; some (if not all) being longer with new jokes.
- At LEAST 4 ALL NEW Awesome shorts, of which will have no time restrictions.
- An Awesome Halloween
- Original and (possibly) redone versions of Awesome's Creed (Thanks to Hans van Harken)
- Egocaptured (Thanks to ImpendingRiot, Tomamoto, and lefthandedsock)
- A "Behind the Scenes" of the creation of the Awesome movies.
- ANIMATED Easter Eggs (Not the storyboard esque stuff in the compilations)
- Any other content I deem cool.

I'm a fan of the DVDs of other Newgrounds animators like Jazza's Paladin DVD and the College University DVD and I like how there's some random funny content just for the DVD thrown in, and I'd like to do stuff like that, too. I basically want this DVD to kick ass and not be like halfassed thrown together shit of stuff you can already see online. I want it to be exciting to see the "awesome" shorts again, all big and on your TV with better pacing and funnier visuals worthy of a 1080P 69" PLASMA HDMI HOLYSHIT.

I've gotten a lot of e-mails and PMs about making a DVD and I've always contemplated it since the first one I'd gotten since I'm a huge DVD collector. It will take a while to fully produce... but I'll do it without question. What do you guys think, would you like something like this? What else would you like to see on a DVD for the Awesome series?

Oh and before anyone asks, yes I am still working on my super top secret project, so don't worry. lol

Also I wanted to add in something I forgot to add in the original post... I'm going to try to animate all the easter eggs, too. The storyboard-style easter eggs leave much to be desired and I know a lot of people liked the eggs even more than the actual movies, so I'm going to have those in there, too.

Personally, I probably wouldn't get your DVD, but that's just because I'm satisfied with your animations as is. Whether other people feel the same, who knows? But I think it'd be worth a shot. The popularity of your series has to account to something in terms of DVD sales. What the hell, GO FOR IT.

The DVD sounds like a great idea. The only thing is, you should keep the original awesomes along with the remakes. Even if the remake is better, it's most likely going to be different in some way. It will be a lot easier to not lose anything in the process. But otherwise, do it!

Ever since metal gear awesome I've been inspired by your work. Everytime
I watch something on this site, I think "Well, I've seen everything, nothing will make me laugh now" but then I see one of yours.
You're pretty much one of the only flash artists that makes me laugh these
days. It would be a dream come true to work with a guy like you.

Now, at the moment I haven't made any good flashes, (so, ummm, don't watch

Do it man! Do it for the kids! Take your time! Do it for all that exists!

He would not be sued. Copyright is very lenient when it comes to parody. Withing certain restrictions (as in you can't slander a title in a way that would affect sales) you can parody copyrighted material without the permission of the rights holder.

Weird Al for example does not need permission from the artists he parodies to mock their songs. He's made a point of asking all the same, because he's a courteous and nice guy, but there was one particular incident, with Amish Paradise where there was confusion between the record label and Coolio and Weird Al was given the OK to do a spoof, and then Coolio said he did not want it done. Weird Al had finished the song, and had released it by this time, and could have left it out there, but instead took it off radio and such things. It's still available if you want it, but he doesn't send it out and around.

So no, he Ego probably wouldn't be sued.

I was sad to hear that MGA2 was going to be the last one you were going to do, you do such a good job on everything you've done so far. Shit If the "Red vs. Blue" Halo series can get peoples attention, I think your work can do a hell of a lot better. The "to be continued" was something I was told to do with MTV to imply it's a series (that was the first short I did for them) they wanted me to add it after every movie but that quickly died out.

Resident Awesome 4 might be one of the shorts that's longer on the DVD :x

Or maybe just a pug be there in the bottom before it rewinds and stuff, if you do that part. For things you should include, maybe something like unseen videos (Perhaps Haloween 2, since DVDs take long to make, probably maybe.) You should continue the "If Video Game Characters Were Real" series 'cuz that would kick ass. But the DVD would be awesome. So yeah, just to make more people buy, you shouldn't release a few animations on here that will be on there.
As for that picture, holy crap, a ghost Snake that screans Awesome instead of the old, gay "ooooooh."

Your DVD setup sounds great. You should have animations that wont be shown online at all and only on DVD. That's gonna make the DVD more valuable.
